French Chic – Ce’st La Mode – How to look “Le Francais”

What exactly is Parissiene chic. It is a seemingly effortless dressing. Its a joie de vivre, its a “I just threw this on!” Enough with the catchphrases already 🙂 Just tell us how to get it. Susan Sommers has written a book on the topic but I don’t quite think Susan Sommers qualifies as an expert on that.

Its an elegantly cut pants suit, high heels or ballet flats. Contrary to what you might think, French women do not spend a ton of money on clothing. They just spend a ton of money on the best item they can get at the best prices, hence Le Depot Vente. The message is tres conservative -You are smart if your lable is smart.

Flashiness is out, quality is key. All logos etc are out except of course , if it is a Chanel logo. Here are 7 ways to look “Le Francais” – think Carla Bruni Sarkozy – wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

Rule # 1 – Try not to go for the Must-have piece of the season. If you must, make it your own.

Or just pair this Dolce leopard pumps with a simple black well cut suit to add a little wow to your outfit. Leopard pumps have all too often taken on a Vegas feel to them butdon’t run awway from them. They could actualy be considered a neutral as they go with practically anything.

Try the same Dolce Leopard shoes but in ubiquitous ballet flats for a more casual yet still wildly elegant approach. For the work appraoch? Non?

A well cut and spectacularly fitting jacket is a must!

Evoke effortless sophistication with a sweater dress and a scarf.
